French artist Cederix Crespel is based in Guerande, western France. He was initially trained as a designer working in a design office creating furniture and interiors. A musician in a French rock band, 'Belles de Jour', photographer, sculptor and painter, Cedrix is a true contemporary artist generating his lively creative output through a variety of media.
Cederix paintings are typically energetically produced with
gloss paint on canvas. He makes use of vibrant colours to represent
dominant, provocative women in imaginary apartments. These women
are always perched on stiletto heels, powerful and arrogant. The
artist's representation is a form of homage to his attraction and
fascination with these women.
He has exhibited and is collected widely throughout Europe. A solo
exhibition of Cedrix's painting is scheduled for November 2010 at
the Artlounge.
