Interested in the notion of identity, Dinah's work uses
topographical techniques to create hyper-real people, people who
exist only on her canvas. Lying somewhere between abstract and
figurative, between reality and fiction, her work has a highly
seductive and sensual appeal.
More recently, Dinah's work has started to explore the concept of
desire itself, using the motif of the bed as the locus of desire,
the stage for the conception of dreams - in all senses.
Dinah Dufton trained at Central St. Martin's College of Art, and
has since gone on to exhibit internationally. Her growing
reputation has been highlighted by nominations for Becks Futures
2002, ICA 2003, and a host of corporate collectors such as Credit
Suisse, Deutsche Bank, and The Bank of America. In addition to
receiving extensive critical acclaim, Dinah's work has been
acknowledged for its investment potential by both The Financial
Times and The Independent newspapers.
All of Dinah's original work is painted using acrylic on canvas.
Commissioned original artwork is also available by this artist.
